2014 Symposium Pinot Noir Accolades
93 Points - James Suckling
Complex aromas of chocolate, meat, and foie gras with dried strawberry. Full body, layered, and rich. Flavorful finish. Needs a few years to come together. Drink in 2020.
★★★★ EXCELLENT - Restaurant Wine, Ronn Wiegand MW/MS
The 2014 Symposium ‘blend’ is excellent: supple and rich, with the delicacy and fruitiness of Pinot Noir, enhanced by the spiciness and depth of Pinotage. It is full-bodied, nearly Rhone-like in flavor (plum, blueberry, black pepper, rose petal), well balanced, and long on the finish. Will develop further, but drinks well now. 4% Pinotage. Aged 11 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. Unfined, unfiltered.
