Chardonnay Library 3-Pack
This set features our 2011 & 2013 "FRV" Chardonnay plus the 2015 Mother of Pearl Chardonnay. Each of these was cellared in a temperature controlled warehouse and tasted frequently by our team. We were elated to find these three wines pouring beautifully; the 2011 is refreshingly lifted with concentrated citrus and stony minerality, while the 2013 shows a distinct hazelnut note. The 2015 Mother of Pearl is also lifted & refreshing, and accompanied by apricot and mineral notes.
2011 "FRV" Chardonnay
93 Points, Editors' Choice - Wine Enthusiast
Made from grapes grown in a coastal, cool-climate vineyard, this Chardonnay is gracefully minerally and acidic. It has all the tart, wet-stone tang you could want, along with intense quince, golden mango and Asian pear fruitiness. This lovely wine is worth every cent of its price. – S.H.
2013 "FRV" Chardonnay
The hazy pale gold hue is evidence of subtle stirring of the lees and bottling without fining or filtration. The generous texture and layers of intense fruit seamlessly weave together with the vibrant acidity and minerality characteristic of the Fort Ross Vineyard’s coastal terroir. Floral aromas of citrus blossom, green apple and lemon tart with hints of marzipan and brioche captivate the senses. Tiers of apricot, autumnal pear with a dash of hazelnut and spice evolve on the broad palate leading to the expansive finish.
2015 Mother of Pearl Chardonnay
93+ Points – Wine Advocate
"The 2015 Chardonnay Mother of Pearl Fort Ross Vineyard opens with notes of buttered popcorn, brioche and spice cake over a core of peach preserves, baked apples and warm pineapple. The palate is medium-bodied and delicately played, with a great line of freshness lifting the nutty/oxidative fruit, finishing on a lingering mineral note. 87 cases were made." -Lisa Perotti-Brown
