2021 Mother of Pearl Chardonnay (Fort Ross-Seaview). Striking a nifty balance between richer, riper fruit, spice aromas and lovely floral notes, this wine pulls off a neat trick. The texture will please lovers of generous, more oak-driven Chards, but a core of vivacious acid will bring to mind more laser-focused styles as well. The finish lifts the entire wine with waves of roasted and salted hazelnut flavors, buoyed by zesty lemon acidity and pithy texture.
